Chinese Medicine is a very ancient type of medicine which includes not only acupuncture but also herbal medicine, cupping therapy, various massage techniques (gua sha, tui na, etc), and exercises.
The main idea of the TCM is that our world and everything in it connects with each other and exists in harmony and balance.
Any imbalance leads to a disease. A TCM practitioner using different methods can help you to reestablish harmony in your body, mind and life.
Acupuncture is one of the methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine. According to Chinese philosophy, our bodies consist of energies. These energies are contained in special vessels, meridians, which go through organs and provide energy to them. A TCM practitioner influences imbalanced organs or meridians via acupuncture points and brings them into harmony.
There are historical records showing the use of different types of acupuncture not only in ancient China, but also in Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Egypt. In Europe acupuncture gained a new life after the Chinese revolution.

Nowadays, this treatment is very popular and is recommended by the NHS and the WHO as an additional remedy for several diseases.
Unfortunately, the phenomenon of acupuncture hasn’t been proven yet, and as a believer in science I hope the way acupuncture works will be discovered.
TCM helps to balance energy, find the root of the problem and treat it. That is why it is effective against a wide range of ailments.
